Plot Summary

  The story starts out with a decorated military man named, Colter Stevens, waking up in an unknown area.  He informed that he has been placed in something called Source Code, and has a mission to relive 8 minutes in the life of another man who was on a train that blew up that morning near Chicago.  The purpose of Colter going back, is to find out who the bomber is, so that he may inform the military and stop and supposed future bombing that is supposed to hit the largely populated town of Chicago.  Stevens takes  many tries going back and fourth trying to succeed in his mission.  Through out the story, he falls in love with a woman on the train.  Before completing his mission, Stevens is informed that he is actually dead, and asks that if he completes the mission, that they just let him die.  After agreeing to his circumstances, he goes in another time and finally completes the mission.  The man leading Source Code decides not to follow through on the agreement, and the Woman, Colleen, who has been talking Stevens though the mission goes against his wishes and kills Stevens, only after letting Stevens back into the 8 minute world where he continues he life.  Because of this, the first bombing never happened, and the movie ends with the maker of the Source Code complaining that the bomber was stopped and he did not get to experiment with it, unaware of everything that had happened.
